WHY YOUR INSTAGRAM GETS VIEWS BUT NO CUSTOMERS

Attention is useful. Direction turns it into enquiries, bookings and sales.

ATTENTION IS NOT THE SAME AS ACTION

A Reel can reach thousands of people and still produce no enquiries. That does not automatically mean the content failed. It often means the journey after the view is unclear.

People need to understand who you help, what you offer and what they should do next. If any of those answers are difficult to find, attention disappears before it becomes intent.

START WITH YOUR PROFILE POSITIONING

Your bio should make sense to somebody who has never heard of your business. Replace vague claims with a clear description of the customer, the offer and the next step.

  • Say what the business does in plain language.
  • Name the audience or location when it matters.
  • Use one primary call to action rather than several competing instructions.
  • Make sure the linked page matches the promise made in the content.

GIVE EVERY POST A JOB

Not every post needs to sell, but every post should have a purpose. Some content earns discovery, some builds trust and some helps a ready customer take action.

A feed made entirely of awareness content can generate healthy viewing figures while leaving potential customers without enough evidence to choose you.

  • Discovery content answers common questions and earns attention.
  • Trust content shows process, expertise and proof that can be verified.
  • Action content explains the offer and gives people a clear next step.

MAKE THE NEXT STEP SPECIFIC

“Get in touch” asks the customer to do too much thinking. A stronger call to action explains what happens next: request an audit, view packages, book a consultation or browse a relevant service.

The best call to action is not always the most forceful one. It is the one that matches the customer’s current level of intent.

MEASURE THE JOURNEY, NOT JUST THE VIEW

Track profile visits, website taps, meaningful messages and completed enquiries alongside reach. These signals show where interest is being lost.

If views are high but profile visits are low, improve the relevance of the content. If profile visits are high but website actions are low, improve positioning and the offer. If website visits are healthy but enquiries are weak, review the landing page and conversion path.

A PRACTICAL FIVE-MINUTE CHECK

Look at the account as if you were a new customer and answer these questions honestly.

  • Can I understand the offer within five seconds?
  • Can I see who the service is for?
  • Is there recent content that builds trust?
  • Is the next step obvious?
  • Does the destination page make that next step easy?
